This Fast is all about coming together, not with technology, but in the Spirit. This Fast is based on the power of agreement, and is accomplished in prayer. At the end of this “post”, I have put together some Scriptures that highlight the benefit, purpose, and history of fasting. I begin that “Scripture” section by giving suggestions for what to do during this fast.
This is an exciting time and an imperative opportunity to come together as a unified body. The Holy Spirit is beckoning us to be His church; not as in four walls. The timing of this Corporate Fast being called, is three-fold. I believe this Fast will be a Fast of breakthrough, strengthening, and preparation.
Before I move forward in the significance and purpose of this Fast, before I explain the three parts contained within (the three points of focus), I am led to elaborate on the very essence of the three-fold reference. Firstly, I think of the notion of “being as strong as a 3 strand cord”.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
I also think of God the Father, God the Son (Yeshua HaMachiach), and God the Holy Spirit….a Trinity; One that is not without the other.
I think of the three parts of the Fall Feasts which are coming upon us…Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets…aka. Rosh Hashanah; starts sundown 9/25/14), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement; starts sundown 10/03/14 ), and Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles; starts sundown 10/08/14); a series of 3 Feasts that are completely interconnected.
I think of Spirit, Soul (mind, will, and emotions), and Body; the importance of aligning all three in order to function properly and be in balance.
I think of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the very means by which God came into our lives in a very personal and powerful way.
As I move forward in this notion of unity, interconnectedness, alignment, strength, and power, I begin to speak of this particular calling to fast; to consecrate ourselves, to forsake the flesh for spiritual gain, to set our minds and hearts on a cause; in a powerful and purposeful way, to be in agreement and set in motion an Army of Love in the unseen.
This fast is first for the Nation. I will not elaborate much as we are already bombarded by media, however, I will bring up words that hopefully will spring up within you what you may feel called to pray about.
These are….the United States, war, Military, Army, Navy, Marines, ISIS, Hamas, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Obama, Soldiers, Families.
Secondly, this fast is for the times we are in; the Fall Feasts, the four Blood Moons. I will very briefly cover what The Fall Feasts are all about, for those that are unaware (See below for an exciting brief look into the Blood Moons as well; labeled as “Blood Moons”). Their is a preparation phase we should be in, as well as a season of remembrance and rehearsal.
Thirdly, this Fast is for our personal needs, concerns, struggles, and distractions. I believe that this fast will allow us to examine ourselves, our lives, our struggles, and give those situations/circumstances to God; for Him to handle. The Lord is asking us to trust Him, to talk with Him, to come to Him in our, and with our hurts, fears, and frustrations. He will heal! He will deliver! He does redeem! Here we have an opportunity to bring that issue to God in Faith and advance in your life, in your purpose, in your walk with God.
I truly believe these are prophetic times we are in. If you are reading this I believe God is calling you to partake, to take Him at His Word; this is the obedience and subjection that you may have heard some speak of. He desires to use you and to speak to you. As we cover all three of these points in the Blood of Jesus, we will be reconciling the world, the Kingdom of God, and ourselves to God!
This fast is for tomorrow Wednesday September 25th 2014. I am beginning this fast sundown Tuesday September 24th and ending sundown Wednesday September 25th. This fast can be done in a few different ways. You could choose to do one of the following…
-an “Absolute Fast” in which you would eat or drink nothing for the duration of time you choose.
-a “Liquid Fast” in which you drink only liquids for the durations (water, or up to and including teas, juices, smoothies, protein shakes, broths).
-a “Partial Fast”, in which you either skip one meal or fast for a specified amount of hours (example…fast upon waking till dinner, 6 hours, 12 hours, or just snacks).
You do what you feel the Holy Spirit is leading you to do 🙂
——-Scriptures on Fasting——-
“Cry loudly, do not hold back; Raise your voice like a trumpet, And declare to My people their transgression And to the house of Jacob their sins. “Yet they seek Me day by day and delight to know My ways, As a nation that has done righteousness And has not forsaken the ordinance of their God They ask Me for just decisions, They delight in the nearness of God. ‘Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And drive hard all your workers. read more.”Behold, you fast for contention and strife and to strike with a wicked fist You do not fast like you do today to make your voice heard on high. “Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one’s head like a reed And for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the LORD? “Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke? “Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
“Whenever you fast, do not put on a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they neglect their appearance so that they will be noticed by men when they are fasting Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. “But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face so that your fasting will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.
Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, and all our possessions. For I was ashamed to request from the king troops and horsemen to protect us from the enemy on the way, because we had said to the king, “The hand of our God is favorably disposed to all those who seek Him, but His power and His anger are against all those who forsake Him.” So we fasted and sought our God concerning this matter, and He listened to our entreaty.
Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the sons of Israel assembled with fasting, in sackcloth and with dirt upon them. The descendants of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. While they stood in their place, they read from the book of the law of the LORD their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the LORD their God.
“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping and mourning; And rend your heart and not your garments ” Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil. Who knows whether He will not turn and relent And leave a blessing behind Him, Even a grain offering and a drink offering For the LORD your God? read more.Blow a trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly,
So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.
And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.
And He said to them, “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer and fasting.”
In the expansion upon the need to repentance, I want to share the following scripture. First, I must say, that there is no condemnation to those in Christ. Therefore, no matter what you’ve done, you are forgiven through the Blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ). Repentance is a quick process of self exploration. It is not put in place to produce guilt or shame. This process is to recognize who we are and where we are when we are separate from Christ. As well as putting us in a place of humility; which is honorable and necessary.
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
The Fall feasts are part of the the 7 Feasts (true Holidays) partook of by Israel; partook of still to this very day, including Messianic Jews and Christians like myself. The first 3 Feasts comprise the Spring Feasts; Feast of Unleavened Bread, Passover, and First Fruits. The Spring Feasts contain a prophetic fulfillment that has already taken place; that is, the exact day the Passover Lamb was put upon the door posts to protect the Israelites from death, is the day that Jesus (Yeshua) was crucified. Read Exodus 12 for the Old Testament account, and mark 14:12/15:42 for a look at the fulfillment date.
The next Feast stands alone and is called Shauvot (most know this as Pentecost). This Feast contains another prophetic event; that is, the day the Law (The Ten Commandments) was given on Mount Sinai, which is the day that the Holy Spirit was given upon the earth. Look at Exodus 20 for the Old Testament account and Acts 2 for the New Testament fulfillment.
That leaves us with the Fall Feasts which have NOT yet been fulfilled. These Fall Feasts begin with Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah), 8 days later is Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), and 5 after that is Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles).
The Fall Feasts point to The Lords return; His second coming. In short, the Feast of Trumpets points toward 1 Corinthians 15:52, which says…”in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”. Read Leviticus 23:23-25; Numbers 29:1-6 for the origins of this Feast Day.
The next Feast, Yom Kippur, shown in Leviticus 16:29-30, points to Christs return which will immediately atone many Jews. It is also a memorial for what Christ currently does for us; atones our sins. We may think it irrelevant for today, however, that could not be further from the truth. Jews today take this day as a day of looking over the past year in repentance and beginning to think on the coming year; repenting, learning, growing, overcoming. What a great thing for us all to do, even though we, who believe in Christ, are already atoned for. Last Feast is Sukkot, this Feast points toward God Tabernacling with us (Leviticus 23:4 and 23:39-43).

“According to NASA, over 5,000 years you only average one total lunar eclipse every year and a half, and here we have four within a year and a half, and they’re falling on feast days,” Biltz explained. “The last time it happened was when Israel recaptured Jerusalem in 1967 and 1968.”
The first of this series of Blood Moon Tetrads was in 1949.
That was the year after Israel was reborn as a modern nation in 1948 amidst the Arab-Israeli war.
In 1949 after the Blood Moon, the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) was moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and Israel’s first Prime Minister, Ben Gurion declared that Jerusalem would be the Eternal Capital of Israel.
Like the last Blood Moon Passover this year, the coming Blood Moon seems to be linked to momentous events in the making.
(Total eclipses are sometimes called blood moons because the moon reflects sunlight being filtered through the earth’s atmosphere, giving it a ruddy, bloodlike appearance.)
A total lunar eclipse will occur between the two Blood Moons of 2014 and
the two of 2015. Although a Blood Moon Tetrad falling on the Jewish
holidays is something of a statistical improbability, eight fall between AD 1
and AD 2100. After this eighth tetrad is complete, another will not happen
for 600 years.
Blood Moons Foretell of Changing Times
”The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.” (Joel 2:31)
Last year on July 29, 2013, Israel and Palestinians entered direct peace negotiations, and the world was very hopeful that at the end of the nine-month negotiations a final status agreement would be reached.
To bring the Palestinians to the bargaining table, Israel agreed to release 104 Palestinian prisoners, 14 of whom were Arab-Israelis. Many were guilty of murdering Israeli civilians and suspected Palestinian collaborators. They were to be released over time in four groups.
For this concession, the Palestinians agreed to not sign up for international conventions.
As talks progressed, it seemed that anything less than total capitulation to Palestinian demands was unacceptable, and Abbas was not willing to recognize Israel as the Jewish state.
As it became obvious that the talks would come to an end with no agreements, on March 28, 2014, Israel delayed releasing the fourth round of Palestinian prisoners. By delaying it, Israel hoped to encourage the Palestinians to commit to extending the peace negotiations.
Consequently, on April Fool’s Day, 15 days prior to the first Blood Moon, in the midst of the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations, Abbas moved to join 14 treaties and conventions and one United Nations organization. The request was approved by UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon.
Included in the 15 was the Geneva Conventions which articulate the laws of war.
“We [Palestinians] have not only signed these [agreements], but we have become officially bound by them now,” Randa Siniora, the Director General of the Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR), told Al Jazeera in late April. Most of the memberships became official in May.
All of this happened at the outset of a very auspicious time: on April 15, 2014, the first of a series of four Blood Moons over a two year period occurred. They coincide with the 2014 and 2015 Jewish festivals of Passover (Pesach) and Tabernacles (Sukkot).
Just after the first Blood Moon, Abbas announced the formation a unity government with the terrorist group Hamas.
Israel responded by formally cancelling the release of the prisoners and imposing financial penalties in the form of withholding tax levies collected by Israel on the Palestinian Authority’s behalf.
That government was sworn in on June 2nd with immediate discord breaking out over issues of security and over relations with the Israelis.
The second blood moon in the series of four is just a couple of weeks away. It will occur on the first day of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) on October 8, 2014, just after Abbas once again goes to the UN.
Thus, it is at the time of the next Blood Moon that Abbas is expected to go to the UN General Assembly to demand that it take control of the so-called peace process and set a deadline for the removal of Israel from Judea and Samaria, Israel’s ancient heartland.
While the events of 1949 and 1967 Blood Moons were directly linked to Jerusalem, we await to see if more is to come during the Festival of Sukkot where the Jewish people will make their pilgrimage to celebrate the Jewish Biblical Feast.
Will the war from this summer start up again during the Biblical Fall Holidays?

What I took important notice of this morning was the news of the United States beginning to take action in the Middle East; just two days before the fall feast begin.

In closing, there is no closing. This is a journey, and God has plans for us. I will be touching base with all tomorrow through my blog at https://nicholemlachapelle.wordpress.com/ and on my Facebook page Nichole M LaChapelle. I am looking forward to sharing a prayer and what God has on my heart for this day of fasting.
May God Bless you!
