~Read and Insight~ “His Whisper”

~Read and Insight~
[I have labeled this as “Read and Insight”, because that is what I will be doing from this point forward when you see the heading ~Read and Insight~. I will share a Scripture, and then give my Holy Spirit inspired insight after said Scripture.]

1 Kings 19:1-18
Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.
So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”
Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness.
He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die.
“I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.”
Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep.
All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”
He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water.
He ate and drank and then lay down again.
The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.”
So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
There he went into a cave and spent the night.
And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword.
I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind.
After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.
And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty.
The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword.
I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus.
When you get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram.
Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel Meholah to succeed you as prophet.
Jehu will put to death any who escape the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will put to death any who escape the sword of Jehu.
Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”

Firstly, God has His eyes set on you. Right now He is looking at you. Not only beckoning you, but looking on you with His Love. Yes, even in the midst of your mess and imperfection. Yes, even when people, even when you, are against yourself.
The Lord heard Elijah say, “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.”
Let me say to you right now that you are subject to no one, nothing, to no lineage, when you are in Christ. No matter what we have done or been through, God has a way prepared before us. Literally and figuratively. He is the way…and His ways were conceived before the foundations of the earth. He goes before us. He is the Author, the Alpha, He is our guide. As well as His having prepared for us what we need before we ever realize, or even if we are completely unaware of what is and is to come.
The Lord provided food (spiritual and literal) for the task at hand. And The Lord will give it in proportion to the task at hand. All we must do is obey His Word, His requests. We must accept His food, His Love.

The second part is where the Word of The Lord was located. How do we here from God? How do we know God is here, there or anywhere? Well, I’ll tell you where He is not. He is not in a mess. He is not in distress. He is not in catastrophe. He is not in heartache. He is not in fire. He is not in destruction. But He is in you and me. He is with us during all these things. With all that is going on in the world we must not fail to recognize that God is Sovereign. His will, will be done. If you want to hear from God, do not focus on the problems or world calamities. Yes, we are called to pray about these things. However, we are not called to stray from God by buying into the belief that God has misled us and forsaken us. We will hear God more clearly when we stop giving a voice to destruction.

The “thirdly” and last part of the “fold”, ties in very tightly with the “secondly”, and that is the last line I shared of the scripture I chose….which is,
“Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”.
This is huge. Why? Because His ways are above our ways. We think God is not all powerful. God is more than wind, more than an earthquake, more than fire. He is so much more, to the point that a whisper from Him penetrates every realm that exists in every realm. We are just too “loud” to hear it. You give power to things and people that are not even comparable in power to God. We worry about things we shouldn’t. Elijah thought he was the only one. Yet, God knew 7,000 unscathed people existed.
In these end times, we do not need to worry. Gods got this. What we need to do is listen to Him, His Word, and stop listening to the world. Your Kingdom come Your will be done…on earth as it is in heaven. We can either choose to trust Him…or not. Cause it’s happening with or without us.
